Avery M. Skolnick – Graduate Student
Avery is pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. His research is focused on the application of hydrogels in HVAC and water production as well as material characterizations of salt-embedded hydrogels. His previous research includes swelling and uptake of pure salts, cyber security for nuclear power plants and physical simulation systems for power plants. Recently he won the best overall project in mechanical engineering at the Georgia Tech Design Expo for designing a fully autonomous packaging system for non-rigid materials. In his free time Avery enjoys hiking, running and reading science fiction.
